The JLG 460SJ is the next model up the line from the base 400. This machine is one size bigger, so where the 400s offered you forty feet of height, you get 46 with the JLG 460SJ
Just like their little brothers, these machines still don’t have the biggest footprint. The JLG 460SJ while offering superior reach, doesn’t sacrifice much in terms of footprint.
Where you do see a reduction is in the basket capacity. That doesn’t mean that this is an inferior lift by any stretch. Other JLG models in this line had double the capacity of their competitors. What they have done with the 460S is extend the reach and lower the basket capacity to maintain the same footprint and agility as the 400.

More Boom Takes the Same Amount Room
The 460S has an excellent maximum working height of 46 feet. That means that much like the 400S, this machine is great for any mid-rise kind of construction site or wood-framed building construction that tends to max out around 6 stories.
This lift is designed to get your guys up a little higher. This model option can be a huge lifesaver for contractors who need that bit of extra reach, but can’t deal with the mobility constraints that come with say an 80’ boom-lift.
